STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Robert Morris advanced to its fourth consecutive Northeast Conference championship game Sunday with a 71-64 victory over Wagner.

Velton Jones scored 25 points for the Colonials, including three key free throws with 29 seconds left to seal the win. Russell Johnson added 12 points and eight rebounds, and Lijah Thompson and Lucky Jones chipped in nine boards apiece.

Robert Morris trailed 31-29 after a choppy first half but jumped on an 11-1 run to start the second half and led the rest of the way. The Seahawks cut it to 65-62 with a minute left, but Jones' free throws put the game away.

The Colonials won the conference title and advanced to the NCAA Tournament in 2009 and 2010 and lost in overtime in last year's championship to Long Island. The top-seeded Blackbirds play Quinnipiac in the other semifinal at 6 p.m. tonight. If Long Island wins, it will host the championship Wednesday. If Quinnipiac wins, the title game will be at higher-seeded Robert Morris.

The NEC championship game will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday on ESPN2.
