BRADENTON, Fla. -- Pirates second baseman Neil Walker was scratched from today's lineup with lower back tightness, according to a Pirates release. He is listed as day-to-day but will not resume activities for the next two to three days as a precaution.

The Pirates play the Toronto Blue Jays at 1:05 p.m. at McKechnie Field in a spring training game.

Walker indicated he was OK, but said he wanted to make sure he did not tax his body too much this early in the season. A lower back issue kept him out of a couple of games last season.

Josh Harrison will take his spot at second base today.
