Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward for information about the shooting death of a man whose body was found behind a West Mifflin apartment complex last month.

Investigators found 43-year-old David Loftin dead of a single gunshot wound to the trunk in the woods behind Building 25 in the Mon View Heights complex on Feb. 9, about four days after he was last seen alive, police said.

They later learned that Mr. Loftin had been in a fight in another building in the complex shortly before he was last seen. Neighbors reported hearing gunshots around the time he went missing.

The Allegheny County medical examiner's office ruled the death a homicide.

Crime Stoppers is now asking anyone with tips to call 412-255-8477. Callers can remain anonymous.
