Ross residents won't be voting on a special library tax after all.

A motion to abandon the proposed referendum was approved Monday by a 6-2 vote. Commissioners Gerald O'Brien, Peter Ferraro, Lana Mazur, John Sponcer, David Mikec and Grant Montgomery voted to end the referendum. Commissioners Dan DeMarco and Chris Eyster voted against the motion and Grace Stanko was absent.

Commissioners were considering asking residents to vote to approve a 0.22-mill tax specifically to fund the township's annual contribution to Northland Public Library.
