An opportunity missed

Had the Occupiers left the well-lived-in Mellon Green pristine clean we all would have looked up in amazement. THAT would have shown us that they felt that all of us mattered.

Arena fights back

I was pleased to read about how much difficulty the demolition crews are having ripping apart the Civic Arena roof. It is a testament to the skill and ingenuity that went into constructing this great, lost landmark. I hope it poses many more challenges for the forces that were so adamant about its demise.

I would like to see full disclosure from the city-Allegheny County Sports & Exhibition Authority as to final demolition costs and a full accounting of demolition waste, including total tonnage, waste destinations and the percentage that was recycled or re-purposed.

It's the least they could do to show some respect for this remarkable structure we have lost.
