Swensen Perer & Kontos announced that CJ Engel was named a partner. Mr. Engel joined the firm after earning his JD at the University of Pittsburgh. He will concentrate on cases involving personal injury, medical malpractice and wrongful death.

Jennifer L. Webster and Nicholas L. Fiske also joined as associates. Ms. Webster received a JD from the University of Pittsburgh Law School and later received a masters in public health from the University of Pittsburgh. Mr. Fiske earned a JD at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.

In addition, partners Alan H. Perer and George M. Kontos were again named to the Best Lawyers in America list for 2012.

Education Law Center, a non-profit public interest law firm focused on public education, reported that Nancy E. Potter has joined as a staff attorney in its Pittsburgh office. Ms. Potter will have a special focus on at-risk children and improving school climate and school libraries. She graduated from University of Pittsburgh School of Law and served as a judicial law clerk to Oliver J. Lobaugh.

Frank, Gale, Bails, Murcko & Pocrass, P.C. said Christine Gale, shareholder, is a recipient of the 2011 Pennsylvania Bar Association Attorney Pro Bono award. Ms. Gale received the award for her service as a volunteer family law attorney at the Uptown Legal Clinic at Bethlehem Haven, which helps homeless women regain self-sufficiency.

Ms. Gale was also the recipient of the 2009 Allegheny County Bar Association Jane F. Hepting Pro Bono Award.

Steven A. Walton and Stephanie T. Kramer have joined Rothman Gordon, P.C. as associates. Mr. Walton is practicing with the corporate department and the Marcellus and Utica shales practice group. He holds an M.A. in industrial and organizational psychology from George Mason University and a J.D. from Duquesne University School of Law. Ms. Kramer is practicing with the estates, trusts and taxation group. She holds an M.B.A. from Geneva College and a J.D. from Dickinson School of Law, Penn State University.
