The first local singer to reach the live rounds of Fox's "American Idol" was eliminated Thursday night.

Adam Brock, 27, was not among the top 10 vote-getters from earlier in the week, and was not one of the judges' three wild card choices. In a taped interview before the results were announced, Mr. Brock, a creative arts director for his church in Chartiers, Washington County, said he hoped America "got" his style.

But it wasn't enough to get him to next week's "Stevie Wonder/Whitney Houston" tribute round.
